Holiday accommodation: Martil, favorite destination for Moroccans on Avito
When it comes to summer vacations, Moroccans opt for the north of Morocco to enjoy their stay.
Martil seems to be the most popular destination for Moroccan summer visitors, ahead of El Oualidia, Marrakech, Tetouan-Cabo Negro and El Jadida. This is what emerges from research carried out on Avito. The platform recently established a study on Moroccans’ choice of vacation accommodation. Half of those surveyed said they were interested in renting. 25.7% of participants in this survey choose Marrakech, 24.6% Tangier and 19% Agadir.
Regarding the acquisition of a second home, the responses are divided between new and second hand. The trend is increasingly towards the periphery. This was confirmed by 36% of respondents. A large proportion (32%) opt for the outskirts of Rabat as the place to purchase their vacation accommodation. The administrative capital is closely followed by Marrakech, polarizing 22% of respondents’ choices. Agadir (20%), Tangier (12%) and the Casablanca outskirts (8%) will follow in this direction.
In terms of budget, 60% of Internet users surveyed say they are investing between 400,000 DH and 800,000 DH for the acquisition of a second home, 44% others have a budget of 200,000 to 400,000 DH while 6% of respondents anticipate an acquisition with a budget of more than 2 million dirhams. Apartments constitute the majority of demand in terms of the type of property sought, followed by traditional houses, land and villas.
