A Moroccan delegation takes part in the World Travel Market 2018
A Moroccan delegation, led by the Secretary of State for Tourism, Lamia Boutaleb, took part in the 2018 edition of the World Travel Market (WTM), which took place from November 5 to 7 in London.
Along with the ITB in Berlin and the Fitur in Madrid, the WTM is one of the three most important tourism fairs worldwide. Several thousand operators and tourism stakeholders from around a hundred countries, including Morocco, took part in the 2018 edition.
On this occasion, Ms. Boutaleb visited the different wings of the Moroccan stand, in particular the part devoted to the Souss Massa region, and spoke with a group of Moroccan operators to inquire about the progress of their discussions with their foreign counterparts.
She also held a series of important meetings with the presidents of the Pickalbatros and Orascom groups and the managers of Easyjet. An agreement in principle was given to the president of Pickalbatros for a new investment in an accommodation and tourist entertainment complex in the Agadir region.
Ms. Boutaleb held a working session with several senior officials from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to present them with partnership opportunities in the tourism sector, particularly with regard to tourism investment and training. The two parties decided to intensify contacts to continue discussions.
