Moroccan tourism regains its dynamism in 2023 with the arrival of 2.9 million visitors
Moroccan tourism recorded a spectacular jump with the arrival of 2.9 million tourists at border crossings during the first quarter of 2023, an increase of 17% compared to the same period of 2019. These record figures are the result of an offensive policy carried out by the Ministry of Tourism, Crafts and the Social and Solidarity Economy in 2022, jointly with the ONMT, including actions in regarding the promotion and development of air connections. The success of this policy is also reflected in the growth of major source markets, namely Spain, the United Kingdom, Italy and the United States. These markets show increases of 45%, 28%, 9% and 5% respectively. To meet this strong demand, Morocco plans to open 35 new lines serving 8 Moroccan destinations this summer as part of its 2023-2026 roadmap.
