Morocco displays strong ambitions for sustainable tourism
The Secretary General at the Ministry of Tourism, Ms. Nada Roudiès, participated on January 17 in the official launch of the International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development, in the presence of King Felipe VI of Spain, Mr. Taleb Rifai, Secretary General of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) and many international Ministers of Tourism.
Morocco, which has chosen to place sustainable and responsible tourism at the heart of its “Vision 2020” tourism strategy, is joining the efforts of the UNWTO to celebrate this important event and will deploy a dense program of activities at the national, pan-African and international level. Program aimed at raising awareness among the general public of the contribution of sustainable tourism to development and encouraging good practices and innovative initiatives to make the Kingdom a benchmark destination in sustainable tourism.
