Hotel and tourism training: The first Career center inaugurated in Marrakech
The first Career center for professional training in the tourism department is now operational.
The kick-off was given yesterday, Wednesday February 14, in Marrakech by Mohamed Sajid, Minister of Tourism, Air Transport, Crafts and the Social Economy. The inauguration ceremony was also attended by Brian George, director of public relations at the United States Embassy, and the presidents of the CGEM, the CNT and the FNIH. The result of a partnership between the Moroccan government and the American Agency for International Development (USAID), this Career center is intended to be a space for exchanges between all stakeholders in the labor market: companies, training establishments, recruitment agencies, associations, business federations, to support young people in their transition from training to employment.
The new establishment, which is part of the human capital project of vision 2020, aims to strengthen employability in the tourism and hospitality sector, by offering young people in the Marrakech-Safi region numerous services such as orientation towards tourism professions, training sessions on job search, training in non-technical skills (soft skills), information on promising sectors and connection with employers through programs internships and company immersion. Furthermore, it should be noted that a virtual Career center “careercenter.ma” has been set up to allow a greater number of young people in the region to access the same services as the physical center.
