
Tourism: The Agadir destination is on the rise again
The destination Agadir posted an increase of 9.49% in tourist arrivals last January, welcoming a total of 62,007 tourists compared to 56,632 for the same period in 2016.
According to statistics from the Regional Tourism Council (CRT), nationals top the list of arrivals in the various classified establishments, with 17,304 tourists compared to 21,293 a year before, a drop of 18.73%.
The German market, which comes in 2nd position with 10,949 tourists, on the other hand shows a significant increase of 124.59% given that the number did not exceed 4,875 tourists.
The French market also shows the same upward trend with 9,763 arrivals last January compared to 8,027 arrivals in January 2016, an increase of 21.63%.
The English and Belgian markets also showed an increase with 6,343 and 2,177 arrivals respectively.
In terms of classification by tourist accommodation unit, 4-star hotels come in first position with 19,650 tourists, followed by 5-star hotels with 15,432 and tourist villages with 12,836 visitors.
