Tourism: Morocco is banking on the British market!
The Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT) sent a message to British tourists, in a video broadcast on Wednesday, announcing the holding of the Congress of the Association of British Travel Agencies and Tour Operators (ABTA) in 2021, in Marrakech, after its postponement due to the Covid-19 pandemic
“In October 2021, Morocco and Marrakech will be there, stronger and united than ever to welcome you again,” said the director of the ONMT, Adel El Fakir, on the occasion of the 2020 ABTA Annual Congress being held remotely.
“Morocco is still there, standing, combative and with incredible strength to overcome this crisis in order to welcome you back in the best conditions,” underlined Mr. El Faker in an emotional video message, explaining Morocco’s position and reassuring British professionals.
With more than 2.2 million overnight stays, the British represent the Kingdom’s second-largest market, the official also said.
A message supported by spontaneous testimonies from the heart of Marrakchis, from the orange juice seller of Jamaâ El Fna to the President of the Marrakech Regional Tourism Council, including Chef Moha and other actors in the tourism value chain.
Through this video with strong emotional impact, the ONMT innovates in its way of communicating and creates a surprise among British professionals who applauded the position and dynamism of Morocco.
The Moroccan National Tourism Office is thus part of a fundamentally voluntary approach to reconquering the major tourist-producing markets for Morocco.
