Tourism revenue: Morocco climbs 10 places in the world ranking

Between 2019 and 2023, the Kingdom moved from 41st to 31st position in the world, thus achieving one of the most significant progressions among the top 50 global destinations. This jump reflects not only the dynamism and resilience of the Moroccan tourism sector, but also the effectiveness of the strategies put in place to revive and diversify the country’s tourism offer, indicates the supervisory ministry in a press release.

As part of its 2023-2026 roadmap, Morocco sets an ambitious foreign currency tourism revenue target of 120 billion dirhams by 2026, notes the same source. To achieve this, a structured action plan is structured around two main axes: – A significant increase in the number of visitors: The Kingdom aims to attract 17.5 million tourists by 2026, an objective in line with the continued expansion of reception capacities and promotion of new destinations in the country. – Enrichment of the national tourism offer: Morocco intends to strengthen its tourism infrastructure for better reception capacity and create diversified and innovative experiences that meet the expectations of modern visitors.
