
Royal Air Maroc will launch a new direct Casablanca-Catania route
Royal Air Maroc (RAM) announced, Monday, the launch of a new direct airline linking Casablanca to Catania (Sicily) in Italy, from June 28, 2025. “This new service will be operated at two frequencies per week (Monday and Saturday) by Boeing 737 type aircraft. The flights will be scheduled to depart from Casablanca at 3:20 p.m. (local time) for an arrival in Catania at 7:40 p.m. (local time). The return flights will leave Catania at 8:40 p.m. (local time) for a landing in Casablanca at 11:35 p.m. (local time),” RAM said in a press release. With the opening of the Casablanca-Catania line, Royal Air Maroc is expanding its network in Italy, bringing the number of cities served in this country to seven (from Casablanca), alongside Milan, Rome, Bologna, Turin, Venice and Naples. This new route aims to meet the growing needs of a diverse clientele, including Moroccans and African diasporas residing in Italy, Italian tourists wishing to discover the cultural and seaside riches of Morocco, as well as passengers connecting via the Royal Air Maroc hub in Casablanca to other international destinations. “The launch of the Casablanca-Catania line marks a key step in our development strategy and our desire to strengthen our presence in Italy, particularly in the south of the country. This new service meets the expectations of our fellow citizens residing in Sicily and offers new opportunities to African and Italian travelers,” said the President and CEO of Royal Air Maroc, Hamid Addou, quoted in the press release. And to continue: “In addition to strengthening tourist flows between Italy and Morocco, this new line will meet the growing expectations of travelers in terms of connectivity, while offering an ever more qualitative on-board experience, in line with our objectives of continuous improvement of the customer experience. Finally, the Casablanca-Catania line is part of a set of new routes which will be launched in the short term, in order to facilitate the travel of Moroccans around the world, mainly in Casablanca and various airports in the North of the Kingdom. With 45 frequencies per week scheduled to Italy, Royal Air Maroc reaffirms its commitment to offering flexible, optimal travel solutions adapted to the needs of its passengers, in particular the Moroccan and African diasporas based in Italy. This new service also demonstrates the company’s commitment to consolidate its presence in the Italian market and to strengthen the role of Casablanca as a strategic hub between Europe and Africa.
