
HM the King lays the first stone of a training center in the hotel and tourism professions in Casablanca
His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God help him, on Tuesday in the El Hank district (district prefecture of Casablanca-Anfa), laid the first stone of a training center in the hotel and tourism professions, giving a strong impetus to the projects and programs of the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity in the region.
This project, which reinforces the surge of solidarity generated by the 19th National Solidarity Campaign (March 15 – 25), illustrates the particular interest that the Sovereign places in young people, the true wealth of the Nation given the role they are called to play as stakeholders in the process of social evolution in Morocco. Such an initiative also reflects the Sovereign’s firm desire to involve this segment of society in the various reforms initiated at the level of the Kingdom, and to promote access to different mechanisms and means of social integration and professional integration, in particular through qualifying training in job-promoting niches.
Created by the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity for a total investment of 30 million dirhams, the Training Center in the hospitality and tourism professions will house an educational hotel, a catering pavilion (kitchen, restaurant and fitness room), classrooms, computer rooms, foreign language teaching rooms, and meeting rooms, a boarding school with a capacity of 96 beds (boys and girls), and other outbuildings. administrative.
Capable of accommodating up to 1,340 trainees per year, the future Center, which will be erected on a plot of land of 8,806 m2 (5,835 m2 covered) within 24 months, will benefit disadvantaged young people and those who have dropped out of school in the Casablanca-Anfa district prefecture and other districts of the Metropolis, by promoting their access to training and assisting young graduates in their integration into the the world of work.
The result of a partnership between the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity and the Office of Vocational Training and Work Promotion (OFPPT) which will also provide management and educational supervision, this Center is intended for the training of competent human resources in the hotel and catering professions, necessary for the growth of the tourism sector in the region. It will thus include 11 diploma courses (hotel management, travel agency, hotel maintenance, hotel reception, kitchen, catering service, baker-pastry chef, floor attendant, catering agent, chocolate-confectionery, Moroccan gastronomy) at the level of Specialized Technician, Technician, Qualification and Qualification Training.
