Moroccan driver Mehdi Bennani, at the wheel of his Citroën C Elysée, posted a good performance during qualifying practice on Saturday at the Moulay El Hassan circuit in Marrakech and will start fifth on Sunday at the Moulay El Hassan automobile circuit in Marrakech, during the Moroccan round, the first stage of the FIA World Touring Car Championship, WTTC.
The race which took place in very good conditions was won by the Portuguese driver, Tiago Monteiro, who beat the Argentinian, Nestor Girolami, while the Hungarian racing driver, Norbert Michelisz, came third, overtaking the Englishman, Robert Huff.
The 8th edition of the 2017 WTCC Marrakech Grand Prix which takes place from April 7 to 9 according to the FIA (International Automobile Federation) calendar, will mark the start of the 2017 season which includes 10 meetings including Italy, Hungary, Germany, Portugal, Argentina, China, Japan, the island of Macau, before finishing on the Qatar circuit.
