Hospitality: Several projects announced in Dakhla
After »Dakhla Attitude » then Westpoint Ecolodge, Dakhla’s tourism industry is taking off quickly.
The bay, already popular with surfing fans, will soon be flanked by several new establishments.
Indeed, according to Maghreb Confidential, the Frenchman Jérôme Schanker, financier at the City of London, will open a store there in 2018 luxury ecolodge, Tour d’Eole.
He will have as a neighbor the Moroccan champion Soufiane Hamaini, already owner of the “Dakhla Spirit”, who wants to build another hotel on land adjoining. As for Hamza Dlimi, local kitesurfing figure, he wants to build the Laguna de Oro, in addition to his Zenith Villa Kitecamp. Finally, the owners of the Palais Rhoul in Marrakech, Fanny and Sacha Rhoul, have opened a luxurious boutique hotel near Nicolas de Vahia’s Bab Al Bahr, indicates the same source.
These hoteliers are watching for the arrival of the first direct flight from Europe: Transavia has promised one Paris-Dakhla flight per week from the end 2017, frequency which will then be doubled. As for the RAM, it must connect Dakhla to Marrakech. Enough to boost a hotel occupancy rate which is already close to 80%, explains Maghreb Confidentiel. To be continued!
