
Moroccan cuisine honored at Il Canaries
The town of Maspalomas, in the Canary Islands, has just hosted the First Culinary Festival, showcasing Moroccan cuisine.
During this major event attended by the Consul General of Morocco in the Canary Islands, Ahmed Moussa and the authorities of Maspalomas as well as those of Las Palmas, in addition to several local and international personalities, the kickoff of the first culinary festival in honor of Moroccan cuisine was given on February 11, 2017 at the fabulous Baobab Meloneras hotel.
The guests were able to taste flavors of Moroccan cuisine, prepared by great Moroccan and international chefs, including, in particular, the Grand Kamal Rahal, President of the FMAC, the famous Chef Haouari known through his television culinary shows and the talented Khalid Zahir, general manager of the Rozalina restaurant in Marrakech.
Another part in the building of Moroccan gastronomy and a timely promotion of the Morocco destination through the culinary arts. Especially since Moroccan cuisine is one of the fundamental aspects of Moroccan way of life and of the rich millennia-old civilization of the Kingdom with its many tributaries, perpetuated by a collective memory that stands the test of time.
The inauguration also saw the exhibition of artistic objects of Moroccan heritage and photos illustrating the crafts of the Moroccan Sahara and Amazigh crafts, without forgetting the clothing of each region, exhibition made in partnership with the Moroccan-Spanish cultural center of Fuerteventura.
A show was given at the same time in honor of several personalities including Mohamed Benyachou Kadouri, president of the fashion and textile commission in Las Palmas, Abderrahim Kadiri, representative of the RAM in Las Palmas and Driss Louryagli of Chaabi Bank in Las Palmas, both sponsors of this event which is being held until February 14 and which saw other activities in parallel, such as the friendly football match which took place between the representatives of Morocco and those of the Canary Islands…
