Tourism: Agadir exceeds 400,000 overnight stays in April

More than 406,000 nights were recorded in classified accommodation establishments in Agadir during the month of April, up 4.55% compared to the same period of 2017 (around 388,000).

According to figures published by the Regional Tourism Council (RT) of Agadir Souss-Massa, French tourists lead the seaside resort’s clientele with a total of 95,004 tourist nights compared to 80,420 nights during the same period last year, an increase of 18.13%.

Nationals are in second position with 85,230 nights, down 2.63% compared to April 2017 which saw this number reach 87,528.

With 57,783 tourist nights, tourists from the German market constitute the third clientele of the city, followed by the English who spent a total of 47,138 nights, an increase of 2.64% compared to last year.

In terms of classification by accommodation units, tourist clubs come in first position with 116,877 nights followed by hotels classified 5 stars (86,145 tourist nights) and hotels classified 4 stars with 86,145 nights.

Moreover, the average occupancy rate in classified hotels in Agadir recorded an increase of 4% from 51.83% in 2017 to 54% in April of this year.
