Marrakech: a new access time to Jemaa el-Fna square
The local authorities of Marrakech have decided to prohibit cars, trucks, motorcycles and carts from accessing Jemaa El Fna square from 1 p.m. In a decision made public yesterday, Tuesday, December 24, the wilaya of Marrakech announced that cars, trucks, motorcycles and carts can only circulate on Jemaa el-Fna square between 5:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Exception is made for vehicles belonging to the National Security and Civil Protection services. This decision aims to reduce the duration authorized for vehicle access, including those with special authorizations, in order to allow pedestrians and tourists to enjoy this cultural space in complete safety. Security measures will be put in place to guarantee the application of this decision at all entrances to Jemaa el-Fnaa square. 78dcc43c b5a1 49d7 8674 022e320b2dfe The ban on access to Jemaa el-Fna square, a place very popular with national and international tourists, was put in place in order to prevent road accidents.
