
Marrakech launches the call of the future: the youth of the Islamic world chart the post-pandemic path

In Marrakech, during three days of intense exchanges, dozens of young people from 48 member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation met as part of the international forum “Youth of the Islamic world: challenges of the post-pandemic”. A space for collective reflection to understand the profound changes brought about by the global health crisis and imagine a more just, inclusive and united future for young people in search of meaning and perspectives.
Organized by the Moroccan Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication in partnership with the Islamic Youth Cooperation Forum, this event was held under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI. The opportunity also to celebrate the choice of the ocher city as Youth Capital of the Islamic World for the year 2025, a tribute unanimously welcomed by the participants as a guarantee of international recognition of the Kingdom’s efforts in favor of young people and South-South cooperation.
In their final recommendations, the participants expressed their deep admiration for the enlightened vision of His Majesty the King in terms of the emancipation of young people, highlighting the ambitious public policies implemented in Morocco to fully integrate this segment of society into the economic, social and cultural dynamics of the country.
Facing the after-effects multidimensional aspects of the pandemic, young leaders advocated for the development of a post-Covid Islamic pact, intended to strengthen interstate cooperation, facilitate the exchange of experiences and promote entrepreneurship, innovation and economic inclusion.
Emphasis was also placed on reducing digital inequalities, equitable access to technology, support for mental health and the promotion of a scientific, critical and ethics, particularly in the context of artificial intelligence.
The debates underlined the urgency of a lasting space for dialogue and coordination between the youth of member countries, capable of monitoring the impact of the forums and formulating concrete proposals adapted to local realities.
In a global context marked by uncertainty, this forum reaffirmed the capacity of Islamic youth to mobilize, to think about the future differently, and to make hope a lever for collective action and lasting transformation.
