The city of Dakhla was dedicated “Region of Dreams 2021”, during a ceremony organized Friday by the specialized online media “Tourisma Post” and the National Tourism Confederation (CNT).
During this ceremony organized in collaboration with the Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT), public and private tourism operators honored an extraordinary destination which is the pearl of the South, indicates a press release from Tourisma Post and the CNT.
Following a major survey conducted last summer by the CNT and Tourisma Post, Dakhla won the votes and was crowned “Dream Destination 2021”, notes the same source, specifying that enthusiasm for this destination continues to increase.
The press release also underlines that the tourism operators gathered within the CNT and accompanied by all the management staff of the ONMT went to Dakhla to present their trophies to the most deserving city officials and tourism professionals in the region.
“It was important for the ONMT to support this event which celebrates an extraordinary destination and which is in line with the strategy of the Office which is keen to position the destination on the international scene as a leading seaside destination,” said Adel El Fakir, Director General of the ONMT, quoted in the press release.
On this occasion, eight trophies were presented to the authorities of Dakhla and tourism operators, in particular to the wali of the region of Dakhla-Oued Eddahab, governor of the province of Oued Eddahab, Lamine Benomar and to Driss and Othmane Senoussi of the Dakhla Attitude group, as « Best operators in the region », adds the press release.
“We are very happy to receive this award, which is recognition of our unconditional and tireless involvement in promoting this destination,” underlines Driss Senoussi, cited by the same source.
This is the first time that a delegation of public and private tourism operators has traveled to Dakhla, which is a guarantee that the destination is on the starting blocks to very quickly become a seaside destination in its own right.
The event, which was chaired by the wali of the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region, governor of the province of Oued Eddahab and the Director General of the ONMT, was attended by authorities and elected officials from the region, as well as officials from the Dakhla Regional Tourism Council.
