Mirrors Art Festival, a new festival founded
Created by Fatima Matousse, The festival commemorates the 55th anniversary of the Agadir earthquake and the 26th anniversary of thefall of the Berlin Wall through a range of artistic activities such as film screenings, musical performances accompanied by video art, conferences and training workshops for young filmmakers and photographers from the region.

The organizing committee in partnership with the Goethe Institute and the Dar Si Hmad Association are organizing the first edition of the festival under the theme: the destruction and transformation of spaces and emotions through cinema, photography and music at the Brahim Radi hall and at the humanitarian space of the Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences of Agadir.
The festival is supported by funds from the Arab-German Transformation Partnership funded by the German Federal Foreign Office and the Dar Si Hmad Association.
Festival program
? Saturday February 28, 2015:
10:00 a.m.: Conference on the theme “Destruction and transformation through cinema and photography, commemorating the Agadir earthquake in 1960 and the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989.”
The conference is moderated by?Dr. Hassan Hmayz
The first intervention: ?Brigit Kohler, artistic director of the Arsenal cinema
Institute for Film and Videokunst in Berlin
The second intervention?: Lahsen Roussafi, creator of the Agadir 1960 site and
co-writer of the book “Memories of Agadir in the 20th century”.
Location: Humanities Space at the Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences, Agadir
6:00 p.m.: Opening ceremony at the Brahim Radi room at the municipal palace of Agadir
Screening of the film: “Agadir 1960: a dream in color,” directed by Brahim Amzil, Morocco
“The invisible frame,” 2005, 60 min directed by Cynthia Beatt.
? Sunday the 1st? March 2015:
10:00 a.m.: Screening of 4 films by young directors accompanied by a coaching session by internationally renowned director Mr. Ali Essafi.
3:00 p.m.: ?Screenings of 4 German and Moroccan films as well as the film “fragments” by Hakim Belabbes.
7:00 p.m.: Closing ceremony of the festival with screenings and a musical concert by the artist recognized for her innovative style: the musician Ali Faiq who will be accompanied by Rways and the video artist Valerie Holmeier.
