The first day of Eid al-Adha in Morocco will be celebrated on Monday June 17, 2024, corresponding to the 10th day of the month of Dhou al-Hijja of the year 1445 AH. This announcement comes from astronomical calculations carried out by scientists. The observation of the lunar crescent announcing the start of the month of Dhou al-Hijja should take place on Friday June 7, 2024. The weather conditions being favorable for this observation, the confirmation should only be a formality.
Consequently, the Eid al-Adha festivities in Morocco will extend over a period of three full days, from Monday June 17 to Wednesday June 19, 2024. Despite this confirmation by the calculations scientists, Morocco remains very attached to tradition. The date of Eid el-Kebir will therefore be announced by the Ministry of Habous and Islamic Affairs.
