
World Tourism Fair: Morocco at the forefront in Transavia’s portfolio
The Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT) and the low-cost airline Transavia signed, Tuesday in Paris, on the sidelines of the IFTM Top Résa tourism trade fair, an agreement partnership paving the way for this subsidiary of the Air France-KLM group to strengthen its presence in Morocco.
This agreement concerns in particular the opening of new lines and the strengthening of certain frequencies for winter 2018/2019 as well as the consolidation of the direct Paris-Dakhla line, in the objective of making it, ultimately, active throughout all seasons of the year.
This consolidation will thus make it possible to sustain “the accessibility of this destination to French and European tourists and to attract a more diversified clientele given that this global kitesurfer spot is also a destination offering family and MICE (business tourism),” indicated the director of the ONMT, Adil El Fakir, welcoming the conclusion of this partnership.
The Paris-Dakhla line will be operated at a rate of two flights/week, said Mr. El Fakir, welcoming the positive impact of the first season both in terms of overnight stays and passengers. arrivals, which experienced significant growth.
The Director of the ONMT emphasized in this context the importance of continuing to drive air traffic to this Moroccan city, with enormous tourist potential, with a view to positioning it as an important destination in the national air system.

The company Transavia, which transported 1.1 million passengers to Morocco in 2017 (+ 40%) with 14 lines departing from Paris-Orly, Nantes and Lyon, displays with 860,000 seats a growth of 45% in its capacities for 2018.
The ONMT has also signed a strategic partnership for the winter season with the French tour operator “FTI Voyages”, the fourth largest European operator group in terms of turnover. 2018-2019.
This Partnership, which was signed by the Director of the ONMT and the General Director of FTI Voyage, Axel Mazerolles, will make it possible to strengthen the Agadir destination from France.
This participation is structured around traditional themes that have made the Morocco destination successful in recent years, namely the art of welcoming and Moroccan hospitality, rich gastronomy and know-how ancestral of national artisans.
Many professionals and exhibitors representing the main public and private players in the national tourism industry are taking part in this Show which will close its doors next Friday.
