
Tourism: 18% increase in overnight stays in Marrakech hotel establishments
Nights in classified hotel establishments (EHTC) in Marrakech experienced an increase of 18% during the first 8 months of 2017 compared to the same period of 2016.
Thus, the number of nights in EHTCs during this period amounts to 5,098,932 nights compared to 4,317,532 during the same period of 2016 and 4,251,985 during January-August 2010.
For the month of last August alone, overnight stays in EHTCs in Marrakech recorded an increase of 12% compared to the same period of the previous year.
The number of nights during the same period amounts to 901,372 compared to 806,135 nights in August 2016 and 527,543 nights in August 2010.
Regarding the occupancy rate during the first 8 months of 2017, it recorded 52% in 2017, compared to 46% during the same period of 2016 and 50% in January-August 2010, while the average length of stay reached 3.4 nights, the same duration as in the same period of 2016.
Regarding the occupancy rate for the month of August alone, it recorded 65%, compared to 63% in August 2016 and 46% in August 2010, while the average length of stay was 3.9 nights, the same duration as August 2016
