After two years of scarcity due to the health crisis, Morocco is gradually regaining its foreign tourists, particularly those from France. Indeed, the Shereef Kingdom remains among the favorite destinations of French tourists, according to the results of the barometer of the Union of Tour Operating Companies (SETO), published Monday, September 19, by the specialized magazine TourMag.

The destination Morocco is regaining its appeal this year, with a massive return of foreign tourists. Between June and July 2022, the Shereef Kingdom recorded the arrival of 3.1 million tourists, according to figures published by the Ministry of Tourism, Crafts and the Social and Solidarity Economy. The number of foreign tourists arriving during the first half of the current year quadrupled compared to the same period in 2021. This represents 63% of the number of arrivals recorded in 2019, according to the same source.

What should be remembered above all is that the majority of foreign tourists arriving in Morocco arrive from France. This is also the case for Tunisia, which this year saw a massive arrival of tourists from France. This is what emerges from the results of the SETO barometer.
