Tourism. Towards a strengthening of TUI Group’s investments in Morocco

Sebastian Ebel, CEO of TUI Group, had a meeting, on September 1, with the Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, accompanied by several government officials, after which he reaffirmed his group’s growing appetite for the Morocco destination.

“Morocco has great potential and offers enormous opportunities in terms of tourism investment,” said Sebastian Ebel, CEO of the German group TUI (as of October 1, 2022), active in the field of tourism, travel and air transport. And to ensure that TUI Group is ready to collaborate with Morocco, which remains a destination of choice for tourists, due to its many natural attractions and its climate.

Sebastian Ebel’s meeting was held with Aziz Akhannouch, accompanied by the Minister of Tourism, Crafts and Social and Solidarity Economy, Fatim-Zahra Ammor and the Director General of the Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT), Adel El Fakir. Ebel noted that his group has always been committed to Morocco, adding that it intends to collaborate with the Moroccan government to ensure an increased presence of TUI Goup in the Kingdom. For her part, the Minister of Tourism assured that this meeting with a world-class group can only be extremely important for Morocco, particularly for the source markets, in this case, Germany and England.

“The objective is to work together to put in place an action plan, which will be able to double the number of tourists from the TUI group to the Morocco destination,” she explained, indicating that this meeting demonstrates above all the interest that the Moroccan government has in the tourism sector, which remains important for the Moroccan economy, particularly in terms of jobs and currencies.

As a reminder, TUI Group, world leader in entertainment, tourism and travel, owns chains of hotels, travel agencies and airlines, and has a series of investments in the tourism sector in Morocco.
