Tourism: Luxury is promoted in Marrakech
Nice move for Marrakech. The city has once again welcomed the best of the luxury tourism industry, thereby confirming its status as a privileged destination.
Indeed, the operators of this niche are in conclave until September 13, at Pure Life Experiences. Intended to encourage business meetings between high-end travel professionals, this show was created 10 years ago, under the leadership of Serge Dive. The latter is also founder of the International Luxury Travel Market (ILTLM) in Cannes and the Asia Luxury Travel Market (ALTM) in Shanghai.
The event brought together 1,500 participants from the world’s travel industry (including buyers and 450 exhibitors), who are also high-end specialists. For the 10th edition, national tour operators answered the call.
As for the hoteliers, the big brands, like the Royal Mansour, the Mandarin Oriental, the Four Seasons, the Sofitel, The Source… were there. The institutions – Moroccan Ministry of Tourism, ONMT and CRT of Marrakech, partners of this event since its first edition – presented the assets of the region.
“The show offers buyers a special opportunity to experience Marrakech,” says the organizer. The event is also an opportunity to present the natural and cultural aspects of the ocher city, as well as its hotel infrastructure, to some of the most influential high-end travel agents in the world, and to specialist journalists.
This show has managed to fit into the official calendar of the most important events in Marrakech. Over time, it has helped improve the city’s reputation, particularly the “high value-added brand”, and generate more visits from customers with strong purchasing power.
In the luxury segment, Marrakech is part of the top 40 vacation spots most popular with the planet’s super-rich, published by the Business Insider site. Each year, it wins a large number of distinctions which reinforce the strategy adopted by the CRT in this area.
The offer continues to develop in this niche, making the ocher city a special case in the development of Moroccan tourism. And judging by the reservations for palaces and prestigious hotels, the demand is indeed there.
