Covid: Morocco extends the suspension of flights until December 31

All flights to and from Morocco are suspended from December 9 until at least December 31,” announced the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGAC). Exceptional repatriation flights are always subject to authorization from the Moroccan authorities, adds the organization.

Royal Air Maroc (RAM) indicates that its flights “to and from Morocco will be canceled in both directions from December 9, 2021, until December 31, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. (10:59 p.m. GMT),” according to a tweet published Thursday evening.

RAM maintains special flights until December 13

On the other hand, the national company is maintaining its special flights already scheduled between December 10 and 13 between Morocco and several European countries. These are Belgium, Spain, France, Italy and Mauritania.

The kingdom’s air borders have remained closed since November 29 due to the Omicron variant and the resurgence of the pandemic in Europe. The government is “studying” the repatriation of Moroccans stranded abroad since then, according to the Ministry of Health.

According to the Médias24 information site, passenger maritime connections are also suspended until December 31.

According to the official report, the country deplores 951,092 Covid-19 contaminations and 14,794 deaths since March 2020.
