Royal Mansour in Marrakech: The most discreet hotel in the world according to the BBC

The most discreet hotel in the world. This is how we describe the sumptuous Royal Mansour located in Marrakech and which was the subject of the fourth episode of the show “Amazing Hotels: Life Beyond the Lobby”. An episode focused on its opulence and the innovation of its staff and broadcast on the British channel BBC 2. The daily newspaper Daily Mail reports this Monday on this program hosted by Giles Coren and Monica Galetti. The duo visits six different locations, one per episode, exploring the scale of decadence on offer.

The restaurant critic and Master Chef judge visits the world’s most prestigious hotels and goes behind the scenes to watch the worker bees at work in « the most extraordinary hotels across the globe. » The Daily Mail reports that more than 1,500 craftsmen participated in the construction of the prestigious address, owned by King Mohammed VI and with an unlimited budget.

A luxurious sanctuary

Innovation and underground access for hotel staff are then highlighted. “Innovation dominates service engineering. Underground tunnels lead to each of the 53 riads. Thus, the staff accesses it quickly and discreetly, they watch over the comfort of the guests in an almost invisible way and respect their privacy,” indicate the presenters.

At the modest price of an overnight stay (varying from 13,550 to 70,050 dirhams), the Royal Mansour, which opened its doors in 2010 and whose construction lasted three years, extends over 1.5 hectares with one kilometer of tunnels. The excellence of its service but also the quality of its facilities earned it the title of best luxury hotel in Morocco at the World Luxury Hotel Awards 2015.

The acclaim is undeniable in the press review which is full of praise for a hotel that promises magic and wonders. The senses are promised the most sophisticated delights. In the kitchen, Yannick Alléno and his three Michelin stars are busy in the four restaurants of the Royal Mansour. He was named Chef of the Year 2015 by the Gault & Millau guide.
