Two new 4-star Barcelo hotels in Morocco
Barcelo Hotel Group continues its expansion in Morocco. The Spanish hotel group has just announced two additional units in the Kingdom: Almohades Tanger and Almohades Agadir. Both are now managed by Barcelo, after their renovation and rebranding, under the terms of a contract that the hotelier has just signed.
Almohades Tanger thus becomes Barcelo Tanger and has a capacity of 138 rooms. Almohades Agadir has the new name Allegro Agadir and houses 321 rooms. Both hotels are classified 4 stars. “We are delighted to continue our development in Morocco. These two units, well located, target both local and international customers,” declared Jaime Buxo, development director of the group.
With these two establishments, the group now has four units in the Kingdom. Baleno already operates Barcelo Casablanca and Barcelo Fès Medina.
Another project is currently underway in the economic capital. This is the 5-star “Barcelo Anfa Casablanca” hotel, which is scheduled to open at the end of the year in the heart of the city’s financial district.
Founded in 1931, in Spain, the group today has a portfolio of 245 hotels in 22 countries. Its offering totals 54,000 rooms. It also has 700 travel agencies around the world. At the end of 2017, it employed more than 29,000 people and had a turnover of more than 4.31 billion euros.
