An agreement relating to the development and management of a hotel complex in the airport zone of Mohammed V airport was signed, Thursday in Casablanca, between the National Airports Office (ONDA) and the Atlas Hospitality Group.
Initialed by the Director General of ONDA, Zouhair Mohamed El Aoufir, and the Director General of Atlas Hospitality, Kamal Benssouda, this agreement, which follows an international call for tenders launched by the Office in June 2017, will allow the establishment of a mixed hotel project to meet the demand of business customers and customers in transit.
The hotel complex, which will take 36 months to complete, will require an investment of 200 million dirhams, fully financed by the operator Atlas Hospitality and will allow the creation of 130 direct jobs and 200 indirect jobs, underlined Mr. El Aoufir in a speech on this occasion.
This project, which will cover an area of 13,280 m², is made up of two units, a 5* hotel with 65 rooms, labeled “The view hotel” and a 3* hotel, which will be managed under the “Relax hotel” brand with a capacity of 142 rooms, he specified, noting that this initiative is part of an approach to support the hub positioning of the Mohammed V aeropolis and to promote of its land assets.
For his part, Mr. Benssouda indicated that this project, which responds to the positioning of the two partners, will constitute a strong urban signature and a visual contact enhancing the image of the economic capital at the exit of terminal 1 and terminal 2.
It will also offer services adapted to travelers and visitors to the airport through a 24-hour business center with assistance, translation and secretarial services, a briefing center with multi-country videoconferencing, and airport-hotel-city shuttles, he added.
