Etihad Airways wants to attract 1,000 Chinese tourists to Morocco
The Emirati airline has partnered with the Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT) and Beijing Yougo World International Travel Service Co. Ltd, a Chinese tour operator as part of its “1,000 Chinese visitors to Morocco” campaign, for the period from February to June 2017.
This initiative aims to support ONMT’s plans to attract 100,000 Chinese visitors each year by 2018. “We are confident of being able to attract 100,000 Chinese visitors each year by 2018. ONMT will strengthen its cooperation with Etihad Airways in the Chinese tourism market. In the meantime, we will accelerate the availability of infrastructure, including our digital presence in China, as well as the availability of the local hotel industry to meet the needs of Chinese tourists,” says Rabia Talhimet, spokesperson for the Office.
For his part, Daniel Barranger, senior vice president of global sales at the airline, said he was delighted to see the increase in demand from Chinese tourists for Morocco. An interest encouraged by the abolition of visas granted by the Moroccan government. “The UAE government has also granted visa on arrival to Chinese visitors since November 1, making Abu Dhabi a perfect stopover for visitors before arriving in Morocco,” he added.
Noting that the number of Chinese tourists to the Middle East and Africa has increased significantly in recent years, He Zhenbin, CEO of Chinese tour operator Uniway said: « Etihad is the first choice airline for the Chinese customer that offers convenient connections, dedicated in-flight service, personalized products, as well as competitive prices. »
