
According to U.S. News & World Report: Morocco 43rd best country in the world
In the “Quality of life” category, Morocco occupies 52nd place with a score of 12.7. The American magazine U.S. News & World Report has just published its annual ranking of the best countries in the world. With an overall score of 26.1, Morocco rises to 43rd place in the world. The 2023 ranking of the best countries produced by the American magazine U.S. News & World Report and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania has just been revealed. To develop this global ranking, a survey was conducted in 87 countries, among 17,000 people. Countries were assessed based on 73 attributes. These attributes were then grouped into 10 sub-classifications: adventure, agility, cultural influence, entrepreneurship, heritage, movers and shakers, open for business, power, social purpose and quality of life. Morocco climbs to 43rd place in the world rankings with an overall score of 26.1. In the “Quality of life” category, Morocco occupies 52nd place with a score of 12.7 and is positioned in 70th place with a score of 2.6 in the “Social Objectives” category. In the “Cultural Influence” category, Morocco comes in 38th place with a score of 21.5. In terms of power, the Kingdom ranks 54th. In the “adventure” category which brings together several attributes, namely friendly, good for tourism, pleasant climate, etc., Morocco is positioned in 24th place in the ranking. In the “open for business” category, which brings together the following attributes: cheap manufacturing costs, favorable tax environment, no bureaucracy, no corruption, transparent government practices, Morocco obtains a score of 58 and rises to 31st place. Switzerland retained its top spot in U.S. News & World Report’s annual Best Countries rankings, marking the second year in a row. Switzerland recorded notable performances in three of the most weighted sub-rankings: entrepreneurship (6th globally), quality of life (6th) and social purpose (8th). Switzerland also scored high for its cultural influence (8th) and topped the list at No. 1 in the “open for business” sub-ranking. Switzerland is followed by Canada (2nd), Sweden (3rd), Australia (4th) and the United States (5th). Note that the United States fell one place in the ranking, after having climbed regularly from 8th to 4th place between 2019 and 2022. Next come Japan (6th), Germany (7th), New Zealand (8th), the United Kingdom (9th) and the Netherlands (10th). Note that several European countries recorded notable declines from one year to the next. Latvia saw the most notable drop, falling eight places to 72nd. Denmark and France both fell three places, dropping out of the top 10. Among the 10 lowest ranked countries were Cameron (78th), Algeria (79th), Myanmar (80th), Honduras (81st), Serbia (81st), Uzbekistan (83rd), Kazakhstan (84th), Lebanon (85th), Belarus (86th) and Iran (87th).
